MathJax and \(\LaTeX\)
There are a few different ways to format math nicely using an average computer. My personal recommendation is to use \(\LaTeX\) (LaTeX), which based on what you type on the "code side", renders equations. There's an awesome JavaScript plugin that I use on this webpage called MathJax that allows equations I type in \(\LaTeX\) to render as the equations you see.
So when I type in \(x^2+2\), I get \(x^2+2\).
So if you have to type things in on the "code side", then how do you type up an assignment in \(\LaTeX\)? One option is to use a program like Overleaf (which is what I personally use) that has the code and visual output displayed side-by-side while you work. But at its most basic, all you should have to do is to create a new ".tex" file on some kind of text editor like notepad (or something more complex like Vim), and just type out your code. Once your code is all typed up, all you would have to do is to render it somehow into a PDF (I'm sure you can do this online).

I'd like to add the "code" for the \(\LaTeX\) template I like to use for assignments and notes. I would also like to add some free resources. In an ideal world I'd also upload my notes but there might be some intellectual property issues so I'll refrain for the time being.
